Summer at Clifden House
August 20, 2019
We’ve been as busy as ever over the last few weeks, making the most of every opportunity to get out and about and enjoy the sunshine – when there is any! Take a look at some of what we’ve been up to outside the home, below:
Newhaven Fish Festival
We went along to the annual Newhaven Fish Festival and had a great time watching a performance from Earthquake Drummers.
Seaford Motorfest
Wally enjoyed checking out all the classic cars and other vehicles at Seaford Motorfest in July.
Eastbourne Bandstand
We’ve been to a number of performances at Eastbourne Bandstand over the summer and we always have a brilliant time. Music, as we always say, is such an important tool to offer comfort and stimulation to dementia patients, and is key to many of the activities we offer in and out of the home. And, as you can see from Wally’s face here, it’s even better when accompanied by a pint!
Denton Island Indoor Bowls Club
Wally and June used to play bowls for the county so our regular trips to Denton Island Indoor Bowls Club help them to relive those memories and stay active. Mike has also taken a liking to it too and is giving them a run for their money!
Whether it’s a day trip to a local landmark, a fishing trip or art and musical therapy, our dedicated activity manager and her team ensure that every resident is able to engage as much as they desire with the world around them, both within and outside Clifden House. If there is a venue or upcoming event that you think we should visit, please get in touch with us to let us know.
