Let’s get quizzical!

Clifden House Dementia Care Centre and Hillersdon Court both in Seaford will be going head to head in a trivia quiz night taking place today. Each team of four residents from the two homes will battle it out across several rounds to claim the winner’s crown.
Deena McCormack, activities coordinator at Clifden House said: “It’s really important that our residents continue to play an active part of the community and a table quiz is a great opportunity to exercise long-term memory. An event like this achieves so much at some many different levels for our residents.”
Nial Joyce of Clifden House said: “Dementia often affects the short-term memory significantly more than the long-term – particularly in the beginning. This is why activities such as quizzes are great fun for residents and helps improve their confidence.”
Established 50 years ago, Clifden House Dementia Care Centre in Seaford specialises in providing residential and respite dementia care. It enables the individual to lead an active lifestyle with privacy, dignity and security.
